Shannon of Skeheen crowned Miss Tipperary South

Skeheenarinky and the surrounding area may no longer have its Galtee Castle, but it still holds a crown on the head of Shannon Brennan, this year’s Miss Tipp South and Miss Ireland finalist.

Ms. Brennan spoke to Avondhu this week on what it takes to be a Miss Ireland finalist, having been announced as the winner last week – and it takes more than a dress and a little tan!

Shannon is an English and History student at UCC, and like a true celebrity, she is late (and charmingly apologizes) for our phone interview.

So how does a girl from Skeheenarinky (population 565) come up to represent the country to Miss World?
